W203 Wheel nuts

Bought new galvanised wheel nuts + locking nuts in July 2008 when I changed my alloy wheels and now heads are starting to corrode. Spoke to Main Dealer today who said 'is normal'.

I work in Construction and would be very concerned if exposed galvanised steel rusted as quickly as these have.

Anyone had same experience and if so what did you do please? Apart from buy new sets at £45.00 for 16 bolts.

Simply remove them, clean with steel wool, apply a coat of Hammerite silver paint and refit.
