Advice on tyre pressures for 18" AMG rims

Just had my P Zeros replaced on the rear at the weekend see other threadhttp://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=17261).

I'd completely worn out the centre tread (over or under inflated ???) Anyway I won't make that mistake again once I find the optimum pressure...

To anyone running 18's on a C320 or C32, what tyre pressures are you running? I've searched this forum and many others and everyone says run with the standard pressures.

Now that I've had the expense of replacing the tyres in less than I year I'll keep a closer eye on the condition but I'd like some re-assurance on the pressures if possible.

Thanks

The advice is run standard pressure.

Although wearing out the centres CAN be a symptom of over inflation, it is also just typical of a rear wheel drive car.

The "book" pressure for my rears unladen is 30psi. I do what I have done on my last 3 RWD cars without problem and run them much lower than that. As the car rarely runs with any weight in th eboot or any rear passengers, I run my rears at 26psi. I have no troubles, get monster grip and I am sure it must help slow down the wear around the centre. It only slows it though, as 10-11K miles and my rears are almost bald around the dead centre while I will have at least 4mm on the outer sections if not more.

Thought this was the case, just wondered if there was anything else I could do to get more out of them, did approx 9k in less than a year. I guess that's the price to pay with high performance low profiles and rear wheel drive & a lead foot .

the "book" pressure for mine (1/2 load) is 29FR, 30 RR.

I run them on 31FR and 32RR. ride and handling is better at these pressures instead of the "book" pressures.

I have "new" (the guy I bought the wheels from had done 1000 miles, at least that's what he said) PZero Rossos too. they seem to be wearing OK.

I have changed my 17" to 18" AMG's, the 18" are from a W210 E55, should i have the tyre pressures for the C43 or the E55?

Peter.
