amg alloys on c class

hi peeps, new to the forum
can anyone advise on the following:

I would like to fit some 18 inch AMG alloys to my 2000 c class (W202). What i would like to know is what size rims i would need, size of the tyres and how much i could lower the car without modification to the arches. I was told to use 18"x8.5J with an offset of ET35 all round. Will this work. if so what size tyres would i use. If this will not work, can anyone tell me what size rims i should look for.

Mercs Rule!!!!!!!!!!

thanks

Paul
