Ebay stupidity

Mercedes W201 190/190E/190D Bonnet/Hood Insulation Pad



Sold for £108 +£6 P&P.

You can buy it brand new at any Merc dealer for about £70 if Inchcape is to be believed.

LOL. you see this quite a lot on ebay. people reckon its cheap as its on ebay and/or get carried away with their bids.

unless the item is NLA ? in which case maybe its rarer...? just because it shows up on Inchcape doesnt mean its not NLA. i tried to get some stuff from my dealer for my SL that showed up on Inchcape but a search in UK and Germany and there is no stock and no more getting made.

Yep...Ive seen loads of items go for more than their new price ...crazy eh. You would think that people would at least find out how much an item is new before they go mad with the bidding.

The alloy pedals are a classic example ... seen sets sell for £60-£70 (plus postage) on eBay, rather than £30ish at a dealer.

I was quoted around £40 from an MB dealer a year or two ago - for the bonnet insulation. I thought that was a bit steep at the time and didn't bother
