Well the chassis number is visible there in one of the pics, if someone knows how to check the datacard thing....

PS: Is it me, or does the rear arches not seem flared compared to the front arch in the top right picture?

Quite possibly my ideal W124!!. Plausible that it could be original I guess, though I have never managed to find anything about a 500TE in all my various searches.

Well I've run through every combination of that VIN I can find on the Russian site and get no result

I read it as WDB1240361*929274

The * being unrecognisable. I've tried every number and every letter in that space an got no hits.

Very nice indeed, how the hell do you value something that rare though?

It must have been a custom build for someone, I imagine that was a huge amount of money new.

I would want to see a lot of provenance though.

Still, it's a belter and actually more rare than pretty much any AMG as it appears it's a one off.

I think it must have been converted at some stage from a saloon as the data card shows electric window blind for the rear window......I assume that this is the window blind that is housed in the rear parcel shelf on the saloon version.

This then begs the question, if the car was converted by MB, maybe as some form of prototype, why didn't they modify a standard TE bodyshell, rather than going to the trouble of converting a saloon.....Or is it the front half of a 500E thats been welded to the rear of a TE....cut and shut...please tell me thats not the case!

Interesting, but all I know, is that I really would like a 500TE!!
