eBay again

I recently sold my Gilera Fuoco but the buyer pulled out 2 days before collecting it after agreeing a sale. I have relisted the bike but it sold for less than it did before. Would I be in my rights to ask the original buyer to make up the difference?

I'd check with EBay if I were you. You will certainly be entitled to a listing fee refund.

As for anything else, well, that will be up to EBay! Good luck....

You can still make an "unpaid item" strike - can't you?

make unpaid item strike, ban the buyer from your future auctions by adding them to your blocked buyers list. unfortunatly you cant leave him feedback though. ebay wont help you as they are "robots" - you can leave a strike but unless he is a common non-payer it wont effect much and he wont be banned. tread carefully as remember the buyer can still leave YOU negative. stupid, unfair system but thats ebay!

if it sold much less than before, its annoying but not his problem. he cant and doesnt have to make up the difference - if you wanted more, then you should have set a reserve.....

even though the bids are supposed to be legally binding, getting him to buiy the bike at the amount he bid is less likely than seeing a pig fly past your house.

I managed to get the original buyer to pay listing fees.

It went last Sunday for £200 less than I sold it originally and have sent him an invoice for the difference, more in hope than anything else. If he doesn't pay I will not bother to pursue it any further as the time and effort involved would not be worth it.
