I get why you're wound up, no one likes being turned over but 120 is a just a good lunch consider it a lesson and don't get stressed about it.

Life's too short.

I hope it's not this Kimberley Davison. What I'd like to do to someone like that would be unprintable.

This is scary (and horrific).

Yes, i raised a claim with them but they cluldnt proceed as o didnt have an address sadly. Citizensadvice have said i can proceed with a court case but they too also advised i need an address!

I have enough time and patience to see this one through and thus think the next step is a letter to the Fiat dealer to get their view.

You should send future correspondence via recorded delivery postal service, now called 'signed for' to ensure that it is documented that you are reaching the right person.

I don't imagine that the Fiat dealer are interested in this.

Personally I would do as Red220 suggested and write it off as a life lesson.

Im going to call the fiat (breaker) tommorow to see who / if anyone deals with their ebay sales, that might help establish if they are connected to the rouge ebat seller. Assuming they are not im back at the start and no further forward sadly.

Does anyone have a dormant ebay account they could use to email the seller and ask if a part he is selling could be collected and if so ask for the address?!

There's a website called 'emailsherlock' that might help. It used to be free, but now, though the search is free, I think you have to subscribe to see the results, and of course, until you see them, you don't know whether they are any use to you.

Time to call it a day.

My dear old Dad always told me you can never con an honest man. Every scam usually involves some degree of compliance from the victim.

In your case dealing outside of eBay to get something cheaper and removing all the protection.

Sending a payment as a "gift" through Paypal as a "Friends & Family" payment. I'm resonably sure this form of transfer also removes any possibility of chargeback as no one has charged your card, you've gifted money from it.

It's a life lesson and a mistake that you won't make again that fortunately wasn't for a life changing sum of money, move on and file it under "experiences".
