Archos pocket video recorder AV420

Does anybody else own one of these things?

I got one a week ago. I was looking for a large capacity MP3 player for use on holiday (wasting the days laying in front of pool etc) when I spotted the Archos range of media players. It's a pretty awesome piece of kit, but I can't get it to play video's that have been ripped down from DVD to Div-X. I have followed the instructions regards frame size and frame rate, but the videos won't play on the Archos. I have no problem recording directly from my TV or sat box, so I am sure that the unit is not faulty.

Can anyone help?

I looked at the Archos but ended up with a Thomson RCA lyra unit which doesnt do video only audio but it is awesome. The compatability thing I believe is a codec problem. Download from the Archos website the latest drivers, patches and firm ware and it will probably sort the problem for you. If not there is a forum out there which i came accross recently that discusses such issues as you are having. HTH
