Vintage Webb push lawnmower

I have just inherited this lovely old Webb push mower, complete with W210 rust styling. I'm trying to find out what model it is. It looks very much like a 'Wasp' or 'Whippet' except for the handle on mine is different. Any ideas?

Wasps and Whippets are very very similar, they even shared the same instruction manual. They were produced from the 30s to the 70s/80s. The handle design on yours denotes a very early example...probably from the 30s.

Excellent info thanks. I could find a wasp and whippet online, but not one with that type of handle. May restore, or garden ornament?

Is that a question for us? The fate of your lawnmower rests in our hands?

Refurbish it so that its works...but don't paint it or in anyway "restore" it, other than a good cleaning.

As you say on the other side, it has 6 blades. This makes it a pre 1936 model...probably a Witch.

I also have a hand me down wippet! I was only chatting to my brother in law recently about how when I was younger the village cricket club used one for the wicket.
So sad as it seems, he found this link for me from the oldlawmower club. Yes really!!
Original manual.
Mine has a smooth rear roller so maybe yours is older or a Wasp.

Google them on images and quite few of them.

I believe the smooth rollers are older than the ribbed versions.

Yes that's an early Witch. The handle makes it an early version, I have one from the 60's. Pretty much the same, except for the handle which is a cross shaped bar.
