Lovely bike though.

I'll probably get my bike out this week...been a bit lazy recently.
Spd pedals and MTB shoes ordered didnt fancy the full on road shoes, the straps I have at the min just aren't fancy enough.

i've the same - a nice compromise - you an even walk around town in them, though they are noisy on a hard floor.

I've stuck with straps and have two pairs of cleat-able shoes, Specialized comfort and hard road ones.
I stuck with straps as I'm usually going somewhere on my bike and hate the clipping sound of cleats when walking and walking in hard soled clipped shoes is difficult.

Built this, a 19lbs hardtail...

Then moved to this...

And then realised that I didn't want a bike that needed me to go out for 2 hours to feel like I had done some exercise, so bought this....

Nicked that pic off the net, but same bike.

My god, being on a fixie you really notice that Norfolk isn't flat after all!

30 minutes on that an I am shagged. Great bike.

+1.
I like going to places quickly, not being knackered after 15 minutes.

Mind you, I can do knackered after 15 minutes anyway.

For my regular circuit, 15 minutes sees me drop 100 feet then rise 600 feet.

Need to get riding again.

Yeah, I have put flat bars and a brake on the front.
I have bought a freewheel sprocket too, going to whack that on and use the bike a bit more.
It is amazingly comfy being steel.

That's interesting that you actually noticed a difference. Less "road rash" and "cleavage"?

Not normally a problem if you've got a fat aramis, but if you've got a bony ass, then...

It just soaks up the vibrations so much better than my Alu frames or the Carbon ones.

So much so I dusted off my old Peugeot bike from the 80's with Reynolds 531 tubing, again a really comfy bike.

I would have done too, but I lent it to my Brother...who promptly got it nicked...same as my old Carlton Corsair.

I can't blame him for the demise of my Dawes Star Celeste. That had a rather unfortunate meeting with the front of a car...with me on it...
That snapped the frame in two at the headstock...
