New to MB - Just got a C180 komp Saloon - MBClub UK

Hi there,

Just bought my first Mercedes Benz, C180 C Class Kompressor in Obsidian Black. Cracking car, quality is unbelievable, cant believe I didnt opt for one sooner!

Looking forward to a good few years motoring out of this as my dad has always had Merc, 190Es, E Class, SLK, and C Class currently and highly recommended.

Well pleased so far, will get some Pics up in the future.

Its not actually, its the 1597cc, I was sceptical at first but its actually quite nippy with the supercharger assisting it. Drives really well. My dad has the 1.8l, from what i understand the power outputs are quite similar?

Looking for a compromise between economy and performance as the govt is doing its best to ruin car ownership!

im interested in this engine size the specification sounds impressive - would be interested in your real life findings, fuel consumption and performance
when did the 1.6 unit start i had thought it was in mid 2011 but evidently not?

Thanks for the congrats, and its very nice to be a Merc owner! As I have only owned the car a short time I cant be too clear on performance, however I can tell you up to now what I have found.....

MPG
When i picked up the car the gauge was showing 38.8MPG, however me and my rather heavy right foot got that down to 25.1MPG, after some fairly sedate motorway driving i am hitting the heady heights of 30.2MPG. After I have driven it over a few weeks happy to update.

It is quite pacey considering its size to be fair, I thought the 1.6 would struggle but looking quite decent. Apparently the C180 1.6 has been around since deffo 2010 but 2008 were when they were first launched apparantely?
