To 55 or not to 55, that is the question

I have been thinking of doing the 55 conversion to the 43.

My heart says yes but my head says no.

What does the panel think?

No, your car has to be one of the best C43 in the country, leave it as it is.

You don't have to fiddle with every car which passes through your hands you know...

If you fancy it then do it. You are lucky enough to be able to do the work yourself so costs will be kept to a minimum plus you can always swap it back if you need to when you come to sell it.....

Do it

- It's an easy swap now that you've done a couple already
- It's totally reversable should you ever wish it to be (keep the old engine somewhere safe if you like )
- Although you have one of (the!) nicest/cleanest/best C43s around, it's in keeping with the car and totally discrete
- The car is already heavily modded with OE or quality aftermarket parts - blanked off wings, COMAND, W210 mirrors, cat + centre box removed, different wheels, etc etc

I can't think of any reason not to - has to be done!

I'd keep this one as it is. I know it's reversible, but...

Only thing that might change that is an E55K conversion, but of course you could supercharge the 43!!

Can always be looked at more positively - take the opportunity to thoroughly detail and freshen the engine bay and the '55 engine - fit new engine mounts and other consumables as you did with Jack's one the other day

Remember guys, this is a bolt in and out job - no modification as such, a day's work to swap over. Nothing that cannot be reversed in the future at all. Just a swap of one M113 engine to another

AMG fitted these engines to the W202 in the factory.
