Question W210 interior light/mirror cluster

Anyone know how you remove the interior light/mirror plastic cluster, need to get to the sunroof mech above it & dont want to break it. All iv managed so far is to get the left hand light lens off.

Will only open about 2 - 3 inches (manually or electrically) & makes horrible graunching noise, very stiff to turn manually.

Remove the lenses and there should be 2 clips to the rear edge of the unit press forward and the unit drops down

nice picture whitey, well done.

ben, if the cables are coming out of the guides there is an easy mod to cure this. open the roof as much as you can and have a look, if you see two cables pop out of the slides each side it is not as bad as it looks!!! get back to us for the easy fix...

If you need to get the rear view mirror out as well, you just pull it downwards hard. It is held in place by a spring loaded device of sorts.
