S500 airmatic issues
My w220 s500 has what I presume to be a noisy airmatic compressor, and the car does not rise properly using button on the dash, only very slightly and the pump makes a slight grinding sound, the pump seems to be running all the time also, and emits a hum noticable in the cabin when driving.... Ocassionally the driver side rear strut also appears to settle slightly lower than the other side when the car is turned off. Do you guys think a replacement pump can solve my problem, also can anyone recommend a good MB specialist in Devon? Many Thanks....

That will be the pump, get it replaced sooner rather than later whilst you can still drive it. Once it goes completely the car will sink down into the arches and you can't drive it. Parts from MB are about £340. I went to Olly at PCS to do mine he is in Horndean though.

I suspect you have a leak causing the pump to run and then wear out.
They normally leak at the pump area from one of the pipes. |
