Surprisingly, the 230K is quite nippy in coupé form.

They don't weigh a lot and the supercharged 2.3 puts out nearly 200bhp with plenty of low down torque from the supercharged engine.

Not a particularly smooth engine, but not one to overlook if you want reasonable performance on a budget

As Will has already said, get some quotes first before dismissing the 430. Maybe it's just my age (34) but insurance groups only alter my premium by modest amounts, until I get in to the silly league of Porsche 911 etc.

That was my conclusion too when I bought my 320. I've not driven a 230K, I'm sure it's very nice and from what I've read gives very similar performance to the 320, possibly even better at lower revs. But I can't help but feel that the 320 is more suited to the GT image that the CLK has. IMHO

Tempting... I was going to say, anything but the azurite/blue ones but I'm not too fussy about colour I'll keep my eyes peeled for your advert!

I'm still only 24 and differently to public opinion, do NOT deal drugs; and even though I'm Italian, have nothing to do with the mafia... A bentley would not really suit my image (nor improve my reputation )

I need something that I can turn up at a client's site unashamed in, something that allows me to put the foot down on a weekend and enjoy myself, and isn't too "in your face"... after all, if it's too pretty the client's may start thinking about how much they're paying me

The Klan come and get you ?

I had a 320 cabrio , and they are nice cars , plenty of real world power and to be honest , more than you'll ever need really.

I suspect i'd still be pottering about in mine if it hadn't been written off.

Glad it did though , now i've got a V8 !!

I guess "insurance" is the answer to this question, but have you considered C43s?

C43 - I did consider; but performance-wise, the C36 actually looks better... much lighter and I don't seem to get as much extra for the added 0.6l.

Insurancewise, I'm looking at about £800 for a CLK430... as to what I'm used to... well, the Z3 is pretty nippy; but has a low top speed... The Ducati... well, fine, it's a motorbike... but it's still got more acceleration than most AMGs can shake a fist at

So yes, this will probably be the fastest car I've owned, but I've been there before
