£450 for both MB and Saab - with £250 excess, through Admiral's multi-car policy. Seems OK to me!

In the event of a total loss you'd have to demonstrate by way of recent historical sales of similar vehicles that is indeed the value of the vehicle, that's where you generally hit the problems, in so much as they require a completed sale (i.e. a classic vechicle auction) rather than "There are 3 for sale on Auto Trader" gov". It is also your responsibility to prove the vehicle is worth what you say rather then the insurer to prove it isn't. A valuation certificate from an independent specialist is considered an indication only and is still only a guideline whilst proof of sales are sought. It makes sense of course, otherwise any old Jasper Smith insures a Mini Metro for £25,000 which then goes missing 3 months later. (Many years ago I used to work in this business). i thought "agreed value" after having prooven it via member club /independent valuations etc etc meant that a payment in event of total loss would be the agreed value with no hassle whatsoever regarding its value....
otherwise, whats the point? you may aswell not bother and then if you have a loss, proove it by recent sales etc etc....
