them new Audis

Coming back from Solihull this afternoon was cruising at seventy something when one of them new A5s came barrelling up behind me - them LED Daylight running lamps certainly make it look distinctive.

What a brilliantly styled car - anyone driven one yet? Looks the biz, can't wait to see what Mercedes do to the CLK in response!

mmm. me too. Audi have gained a lot of ground and their reputation for interior build quality is excellent

Years ago I was not an audi fan.
But the cars they have produced recently have great style, performance and build quality. RS6, RS4 and R8

I would definately consider an Audi as well as Mercedes as my next car

Have to agree, I'm very likely to be getting an A4 Avant next year as a replacement for the Vito, nice looking, well built and a very comfortable driving position. 2.0T FSi Multitronic is my choice as a daily driver. I either go with the existing model and negotiate a deal or wait for the new shape to arrive in summer.

I'm taking delivery of an A8 next week to replace my E320.

The E320 was a great car but I had several minor issues that took the dealer months and months to rectify.

I will let you know what I think.

Regards

Please report but don't compare the two cars. Or should I start complaining how much worse the W211 is over the W221

Interior build quality is terrible..

I have an 2003 A4 also, and the switches are chipping, fading, popping out..

Never again..

Although AUDI make brilliant drivetrains, and utterly brilliant engines..

My mate picked one of these last week. He paid an absolute fortune to jump the queue, more money than sense.

All that money for a car with a funny-shaped steering wheel .

The A5 is a really nice looking car, much nicer then the 3-series coupe IMO. In fact, Audi seem to be one of the few remaining manufacterers of cars that are actually aesthetically pleasing. And the build quality does seem to be right up there.

Audis all look the same .. with the massive grill that stretches from top to bottom

I find them a bit derivative really

Amazing build quality, but just as with my brothers A8 the interiors look dated IMO.

I agree. And that big gaping mouth looks so ugly. Boy racer styling at its worst to my eyes.

As for LED lighting, let's hope we get spared this development. Instead of just replacing a bulb you have to pay to change the whole flipping lot. Daft.

Yes - I accept a proper comparison should be with the S Class in terms of space/performance/ride etc.

I was referring to the build quality/reliability and "niggling" issues.

I also agree that all Audi's look the same. However there are astonishing bargins to be had on the A8 - hence the change. Unfortunately I couldn't afford a S class - maybe next time.
