Mine sits at 80 all the time, unless im sat in REALLY bad traffic, never seen it above 90 though...

Thermostat could be sticking? Might not be starting the cooling process fast enough so you have a blip of heat before it eventually kicks in...

Sure people will have lots of ideas/useful info but i'd say check this first as it's cheap to fix and happened on an old Peugeot of mine.

My C240 has never gone past 90, and even then 90 was a one off of heavy driving in hot weather. I'm amazined how cool it keeps considering the heat it gives off when you open the bonnet.

mine sits at 80 then goes up to just above 90 in traffic.
Used to go up to a 100 but after a rad flush, and some new coolant, it has never done that.

You can get it higher than 90 though if you leave it stationery and rev continuouly up to 4000 for about 10mins.
please do not do that though, as i was experimenting something with my tester.

There are different configurations out there the 202 bit does not give a comparison as to what they all do and when, some have electric fans that come on at 100c, and some do not

My w202 C200 sport sits quite happy in the middle, but doues go up to 80 while in standing traffic for 10 min, but does drop down to normal when i get moving. It used to worry me when i first got it, but i take it as normal now 6 nearly six months on.

yea
i guess its more 90 than 100, cuz its just under the marker,
and it is normally after being in traffic for a while, so im guessing thats the reason, ill get the rad flushed at the next service if it dont look too good, or ill just leave it as is

thanks for all the help ppl
