no 13 month MOT. if you take it 28days before it expires you will get a new MOT dated from the expiry date of the last one.
Still 12 months. So if it expires on the 1st of march, you can take it say on the 3rd of february and you will get a new one but it will start from the 1st of march |

Feeling specially pedantic, I would also make you aware that it's not 28 days, but a calendar month you get

i never said it must be 28 days. the 28 days was an example i was giving. might as well have said 24 or 30 so be more pedantic.
it starts on the day yes but the expiry date will be taken from the end of the previous one. |

I don't think you can, it is a maximum of a few days - how would you go with validity of insurance/MOT if a month before . I am sure I have tried it and could only do it 5 days before expiry .

So presumably, you have to tell the MoT station that your old MoT expires in X days time for them to date the new one correctly, or is this now picked up automatically with the computerised system?
