Wow. Impressed (as always) by Olly - most other places would not even bother making the effort and just try and get the customer to pay through the nose.

These panoramic roof problems - are they the ones (fixed) on the S -Classes also?

The pano roof in my SL is brilliant and I don't ever want to go back to full metal (Avantime anyone?) so was hoping to be sitting waiting on the depreciation curve in a few years when a current model S class passes me on the slide down and rescue it :-)

As this thread has come up. I had an E61 5 Series touring with a pano roof.

Was alright for the first 18 months and then a complete nightmare. Car ended up getting taken away on a low loader because of the water coming in and stored till the bmw dealer could look at it.

Last sunroof i ever get , even puts me off getting a convertable now!

Main problem we had with my wife's C coupe pano was rattling. It drove me insane on a long journey! Never again!

Bit too late for some, but I found when I bought out car that the motor on the Pano roof was straining. A bit of lithium grease (I think that's what it was) did wonders, and it moves much more freely. Rattles though when the blind is open.

It all seems like doom and gloom!! I have a pan roof and it works beautifully (famous last words!) I just make sure the runners and well greased and apply Vaseline to the "rubber" trims my E320 CDI is just coming up to 100,000 and I have to say it has been the best car I have owned, lets just say it knocks spots off my "old" 57 plate A6 2.0 tdi avant. It is a joy to drive and I get about 45mpg average. It has had one or 2 little issues but this forum is so good it's now at the top of my favorites!!

I keep hearing this... Is it a DIY job, or a few hours in Horndean job? Need to go to the south coast sometime soon anyway!
