Advice needed for new car delivery late >2 months

I ordered a new Mercedes C200 Premium Sports @36k in Oct 2016 and was told the delivery is expected on 13 Feb 2017.

Now I was just told the car could only finish manufacturing by end of March and the delivery to me will take even longer.
Sales is just informing on this without offering incentives or even an apology.

I am angry but they just say I could complain to customer service if I want to.

well. very arrogant attitude. any advice on getting faster delivery or some form of compensation?

I think any kind of recourse would be handled at dealer level.

Basically the sales person has over promised and under delivered with regards to the delivery date.

Remember that build dates can and do change above the control of any dealer based on factory outputs and there is a chance build slots will move forward come March as they'll be chasing registrations for that month.

It may just be a case of being patient and play nice to the management and see what happens. My car was delivered a little later than originally anticipated due to logistics from port but nice service come the day of handover soon diminished any slight dossapointment I had.

If its coming from South Africa then it may have simply "missed the boat" i.e. shipping allocation has had to be altered to a later date?? I always think the longer the journey a car has to take to the showroom the greater potential for delays.

If a build slot is allocated, there's not much that can be done to get it here faster. Delivery dates do slip.

Any negotiation will be based on what was agreed in writing at time of contract. If the car needed to be here by x date because your previous one was going back, you've got room to talk about being lent something to fill the void, for example.

The ultimate chip would be cancellation of the order, but do you really want to follow through if they call your bluff?

In the same situation. And I am going to cancel. Mines a C200 cab and its delayed for a least 2 months due to unavailabity of the leather dashboard.

I built my car on the brokers website earlier this week and its now 2,500 cheaper than when I ordered on 1 November.

It happens. The Zoe I lease was 3 months late on a 3 month delivery time.

I could have cancelled the order and taken my money elsewhere but the deal was sufficiently (stupidly) cheap to warrant sticking it out. Unless you have a firm delivery date in writing on the order form, there's not much that can be done about it.

Are you ordering at a Mercedes-Benz dealer or through a third party?

Delays happen, my c-class is delayed by almost 2 months due to HUD system availability issues. I'd be more concerned if it was going to be delayed beyond the first of April and the new VED rules and cost implications which you may not have allowed for when you ordered

The Mercedes apologists on here crack me up. I waited 6 months for an E class (O.K. I ordered a C class, but the "lack of build slot" rowlocks cropped up and I switch 3 months in).

The crux is MB UK will not give a stuff.

Your supplying dealer will not give a stuff.

When you replace your Mercedes it won't be with another one because of the bad taste you were left.

The following posts will be from people defending MB. These people would never waste money on a *new* car obvious to where the used ones come from
