Wheeler Dealers

Hi all at the MB Club,

My name is Dave, and I work for a television production company called Attaboy TV, we produce the show Wheeler Dealers for the Discovery Channel on Sky. I’m unsure if you are familiar with the show, but we buy iconic cars in need of repair, restore them to glory, before taking them for a test drive, then selling them on.

Currently we’re working on a 2000 model SLK. This is now in sat our workshop, ready to be restored.

At the start of each show, we film an introductory sequence we call a “Pristine.” In the pristine sequence we film with a pristine version of the car we are about to work on. This allows us to introduce the car to the audience, and show to them what we’re looking to achieve with our car. I wanted to get in touch with the MB Club, in the hope that you may be able to help us source a “pristine” version of our SLK.

We’re looking for an owner with a clean, working, and great looking SLK that matches our model. The owner would need to be happy for us to drive their vehicle on camera, and live around the London area. For the owner, it would be an opportunity to show-off their prized possession on national television.

I really hope you can help, and please feel free to get back to me if you have any questions.

Kind Regards
Dave.

Would be nice for a blow by blow, how it was done preview?
Me for one would be interested in a how the program is made episode with behind the scenes problems warts and all.
Or does it always got to plan?

why would you care?

i find posts like this sad since the guy is just presenting a popular TV show and threads on forums almost always end up commenting on the guys weight. i read somewhere (i think on a blog he did) that he was going to diet as he was fed up with constant insults on the internet.

Back on topic, sometimes i think they choose the wrong car to do. they seem to have a huge list decent/proper classic vehicles "to do", ie cortina, Escort, SD1, pagoda sl, w124 (my own future preferences!) but insist on doing 2002 Saabs, 2000 range rover, Jag xk, SLK etc..... although i enjoy every episode regardless!

They need to work on cars that have a small number of quick to fix faults that don't involve welding I suspect. All of your suggestions would probably need the old torch.

Your Alfa would have been an ideal candidate
