C63 ordered

After umm-ing and ahh-ing between a C63 and a 993 C2S I have just put an order in on the C63 with my local dealer (on the phone from Saudi even!).

Have gone for Cavansite Blue (Mercedes in London have never ordered one in this colour - not sure if that is a good thing or not?) on an estate without PPP but with 19 wheels (not the black ones). Sand interior.

Awaiting news on likely build dates. Thinking of a trip to collect it from the factory.

I am spending increasing amounts of time in Saudi and want something that will start when it has been left for 2 months , is under warranty if it needs fixing and I am not about to sort it, I don't have to worry about it being stolen (on road parking in sw6 unfortunately) too easily and something that my partner can drive if she has an emergency and the mini she has is not operational.

I am desperate to scratch the 993 itch. Might just have to be in 2 years time!

Sounds like a fantastic colour combination, very nice. Great choice, especially on the Estate.

Thanks A-A.

I think it will be nice and not too in your face. I have tried to find another for sale used or new in caravan site blue and can only find one saloon in blue with black inside. Managed to avoid red leather, but it was hard!

Not seen that colour

There was an old shape one kicking around in dark blue with sand leather. Looked great, and the silver calipers will look classy on it too.

Enjoy.

I'd like the red callipers but don't feel I need the ppp. Shame merc don't offer a painting service a la Porsche.

I'd like some yellow ones with the blue.

Nice colour combination. I considered cavansite blue for mine but couldn't find one to physically view. If you contact AMG they may consider your painted caliper needs.

cavansite blue is beautiful, it's a dark metallic blue with depth.

very much like the tanzanite blue on my CLK 55 which you have seen, only a little bit less dark.

Old cars are a hassle and need looking after. A nice new one really doesn't cause as much inconvience.

The C63 sounds a Cracker colour wise etc

Sounds sensible to me. I wouldn't leave a 993 parked on a London road for months either. Also agree about scratching that 993 itch, there's something special about that air-cooled engine.

True, but for those who have the time and space, old cars can be fun too.
