Probably similar to this - which is a very late 1992 "J".

You need to ask if it's worth £5,400 more than Henry Cecil's ex motor.

It's interesting that they don't have more of a collectors status when you consider how many celebrities owned them, but unless you have the actual car owned by a celeb, they don't seem to. Do people remember that one owned by Senna that was advertised a few years ago for around the £20k mark?

I would think from how you have described the car you will need to pay between £10k-£15k but not as an investment......because you want the car and want to enjoy it.
Probably not an investment in the conventional sense but sidestepping the depreciation that you would certainly suffer from a modern box.

Cheers guys just the sort of feedback I wanted. As I sort of suspected as an investment my money might well be better invested elsewhere.

Should that not read ANYWHERE except in a car, any car.

No not at all. I think the following are good investments and good cars to enjoy on a dry sunday.

1) W113 Pagoda SL
2) Sub 100K post 1985 R107 SL - Values are on the up, be quick
3) Many other 60's/70's models such as W108 Coupe etc etc.

If you still want a mint SEC then this might interest you. Top of the range 560 with only 30k on the clock at a not unreasonable £12950.

Certainly a significant saving over £30k!
