The interior thing will always be a difference of opinion, the Audi interior wasn't bad, it was moreso the W211 was that bit better.

I had a 2007 Audi A8 as a courtesy car about 4 year ago (before I'd owned a Mercedes) and I owned an A6 at the time. I'd always fancied an A8 after that, but my memory of how good they were has been blurred by Mercedes ownership since then and after sitting in and driving the A8 it felt a step backwards from the E-Class in my humble opinion.

My dads got a 2007 A6 and he loves it, I suppose it's all just personal preference pal.
Hope you re well and enjoying the new motor
You're right man. We're actually lucky to have sampled so many different cars and it's down to what you like. I think you'll agree with that after a long day at work there's nothing like getting into a nice Merc to go home in
To me the best car would be a Benz AMG engine with an Audi interior that drives as sharp as a BMW.....

Looks the mutts nuts to me. Last time I had heated rear seats was in a 87 560 SEL. I traded in a VW Phaeton prior to buying the Merc. Road tested an Audi 6 and an 8, both very well built and appointed cars, however, the interior lacked a certain something, I also chose a Mercedes. I hope it gives you good service.

Was the car in an accident? the front wing looks a different and more matted shade of black and is much less lustrous.

Or did you clean the rest of it and miss the wing out?

Cheers Woody.

I think my dislike of the Audi interiors probably stems from that when you're in a Seat or Skoda (and there's nothing wrong with either marque) you can see the Audi touch everywhere, so when I get in an Audi all I seem to see is Skoda or Seat.

My friend had a Bentley Continental and you could see the Audi touches in that as well, in what was a £140k car....

Just a personal thing I suppose.

Haha, I was thinking that wing looked a bit odd on the photo as well, but there's no damage, it's just a trick of the light.

And it also hasn't been cleaned since I bought it....

I thought that and hoped it was a trick of the light/shadows, but you can see how the colour changes on the door/A post joint as well on the bonnet quite abruptly. I reckon there is a new wing on there or your camera is the best wind up merchant going

I'd be curious to see a paint guage on your car, where is dieselman when you need him...

No bad thing if it is a new wing, I've got one and it doesn't take much of a knock to earn you a new wing and makes the car that bit newer.

If there really is any difference in the paint and the car has been bought from a trader/sales outlet it's probably had a front end paint job to lose stone chips.

If I remember right, the sun was behind me. With the wing having curves as opposed to the flat bonnet and side doors, the light will reflect different.

I'll take another picture tomorrow but from a different angle.

Ucht, that'll probably be it. I had a 211 in black. Lovely when clean, give it a good clay, wash and wax and it will look great and so easy to clean afterwards. Only takes me 2hrs to do that lot. Wasted really on a silver car, on a black one it will be magic.

MB Hull did all mine, shame it started to peel off a layer of lacquer a year later....your PTG found 2 layers all over the shed

I've had both sides of it done again and a new wing....
