Its for a friends W220 which has developed a misfire occurring when you try and kick down. The misfire stays until the engine is switched off and restarted, runs fine again til the same situation. Many thanks! |

Try ACMS Mercedes @ Smethwick. 07530 456000. Ask for Mark. Really good bloke - ex MB main dealer.

I've used this guy a few times for servicing and repairs. Excellent bloke and really knows what he's doing with an MB - could teach MB dealers a lesson in what they're doing wrong. Also has an MB STAR system so can read error messages/diagnostics and do a full MB service with proper reset and update. |

Don't know anything about any of these recommendations but a word of advice--best to go to someone familiar with your age of car. Some specialists are very good with older models but tend to be slightly out of their depth with the recent electronic laden cars. Others, often not long away from the official Mercedes franchise environment are better aquainted with Star Canbus and the rest but have had little experience or training with older models. Routine servicing , brake and suspension work can easily tackled by either but depends exactly what you want done? If you take a look at the age of the vehicles in the garage that can give you a clue to their strengths /specialist skills.
