2010 meets in Scotland

Some ideas to chew over (apart from the National GTG)

A karting day at a suitable venue.
BBQ
Track Day in St4's car
Usual lunches / drive

Anyone any other ideas in general that could work for us all so we have an absolute blast next year ?

Karting would be an interesting one, some decent places nearby. Again some form of collecting some funds, and booking but nowt that cant be done.

BBQ is nice but we either

a) need a hospitable host, and we can contribute, set up a kitty to fund the food and beer.
b) go down the disposable BBQ route in a random venue
c) gatecrash barryh's place and give him £2 :P

Lunches/drives always good even if the weather isn't.

I'll ignore the track day suggestion

Another idea, is that we can an Indie garage to do a meet for us. Olly @ PCS and Jay do one, if we could maybe get the fella @ Ibrox to think about hosting something for us, show us the workshop, discounted star work and a chit chat about cars may be another idea.

However more importantly is lets get something set up soon, sometime early in 2010.

Hi

2009 was a great year for Scottish meets! We've turned them from non-existant to very regular great meets over the past year. I'm looking forward to next year's ones already.

Trackday is no good for me as I have a E300D. unless Steve will led me his S500L If we do one i'll bring the Alfa.

BBQ sounds good and would be great up on the hills where we stopped at the harbour cafe, (noticed signs of previous bbq's there)..... but we need good weather so something for much later on in the year.

Go Karting gets my vote.

Theme park may be a laugh.

Cheers

Derek

Another suggestion;

Pi$$ up weekend in Blackpool and then maybe if Ian can be tempted a trip to 124 Works? May be good since the guys down there made the trip up to us this year.

Hi Lads, We're amused to see you're thinking of copying our recent GTG go-kart experience,we certainly had a fun day with em,even though it was very cold.
Regards your idea for a track day, we're currently exploring the potential of a BANGER race,so that we're not hindered by that silly 'no bumping' rule, of course if you decide to copy that too, I think they allow Alfa's

Well i'm trying my best by leaving it out in the snow/cold driveway whilst my two Mercs are nice and snug in the garage, much to my wife's dismay. She wants me to put the SL outside as its not used No thanks! My compromise is that I always have to scrape the ice off her car before she sets off in the morning

Dont put a merc outside either, they are just behind Alfa and Lancia in the rust affinity stakes

Also, maybe a 4x4 day? Of course some of us would have to hire the 4x4 for the day but i assume this is possible but expensive but would be great fun. Dont know if you can hire just the 1 and then take it in turns or something so the cost is split?

Happy New Year!

Shall we set a date for the next meet?

How about February or March sometime?
