Can I be the New Forest Ambassador?? Lol

There is a great little pub and hotel opposite each other just off the 1st junction off the M27 before it becomes the A31 then from there drive through the forest in the village of Downton then next town will be Salisbury (10)mins from Downton and 20 minsfrom pub/hotel

I have organised a BMW Wessex event in Wilton house maybe I could organise something there as the Earl is a car nut too. Then from there go to shaftsbury (gold hill, Hovis advert) via zigzag hill

I would like to come, but how come no date has been set yet?

Maybe we can get the Bluewater AMG possee out and about unless it clashes with the Goodwood track day....

I think some co-ordination/collaboration with the proposed Yorkshire YOMP would not go amiss as regards dates.

Mic
Voting on dates for the Yorkshire YOMP closes end of today but from the results so far it will be either the 19th May (Clash with proposed date for this tour) or 26th May. Will Post result tomorrow.

Why not throw half a dozen dates out there and let people vote like the Yorkshire one a poll on here or on doodle is dead easy and everyone can have an input

That would clash with the Goodwood track day, and we wouldn't want that

Too close to Ollies meet that lies in mid May and Ian F's tour.

July would be ideal....

How about earlier, mid March (hotel will still be cheap), and the weather shoud be good if last year was anything to go by.

That works for me Nick, just to let you know the Yorkshire tour now fixed for 26th May 2012.

Looking forward to yours though

I can do any weekend in march bar the 10th - however an idea might be to piggy back it onto the back of Ollies GTG if he has one on the Sunday.

Right ho.

Rough show of hands of how many need a hotel?

I was thinking of this for the people who need to stay:

Branksome Place | Hotel and Conference Venue in Haslemere, Surrey

As it's cheaper than a travel lodge and quite nice, plus we can all meet at the Devils Punchbowl (as well as people joining on route for the less hardcore/people who can't spare a whole day etc) which is handy for the people from London and from the coast.

I don't know any of the places so if you give us a post code for the start point thats idea.

Good work on the hotel BTW. Thats ideal. Pick a date as can do a March weekend (just not the 10th) - down Friday night, back up the Sunday or Sunday depending if I want to fork for a 2nd night in a hotel
