Welcome to HIMM
You could stop off at our place (19 miles north of Salisbury) for a cup of tea or summat else (no drinking and driving of course!)

How about:

Start at Devil's Punchbowl on A3.

Then head down A3 to Petersfield, and then along A272 to West Meon, turn onto A32 and head through the Meon Valley.

Then on to the M27 heading towards A31, stopping for lunch in the New Forest somewhere, before heading up to Salisbury and then along the A303 for an afternoon at the Haynes Museum?

So Surrey Hills, Southdowns National Park, Meon Valley, New Forest National Park and Salisbury Plain in one fairly straightforward journey.

Hi folks, just my 2 cents worth - but I think that if you leave the M27 to go into the New Forrest for lunch it would leave very little time at Haynes museum.

For people who want to spend a lot of time at Haynes you might think of over-nighting at The Sparkford Inn - I have not stayed there but it is a Marstons pub so should be O.K.

Also, if you Gift Aid your admission to Haynes you can go back the next morning (or any time within the next 12 months).

NickMercedes - you may like to slightly adjust your excellent route to carry on from the M27 to the A31 to take the A350 (just north of Poole) through Shaftesbury up to the A303. Should be about a 3 to 4 hours drive from Devils Punchbowl - or a little more from MB World if you wanted to start from there. A nice time to arrive at Haynes for
Lunch - always pleasant and reasonably priced.

I hope this is of help, and look forward to seeing if I can get time off work to join you if a lowly C240 is permitted to join the trip.

Not motoring related but possibly of interest, the Fleet Air Arm museum at Yeovilton is only a couple of milles away from the Haynes museum

Also, be aware that if intending to use the A36 into Saliabury there can be delays on the dual carriageway / Alderbury bypass into the city depending on day / time / weather.

Driving is pretty grim now, what about late March, early April when the weather should be better and spring having sprung.

No sign of daffs (not sure if any planted here) but a magnificent mature camellia is erupting into hundreds of dark pink double flowers. If there is no frost or heavy winds this week it should be phenomenal by Saturday.
