A friend of mine has fixed the mechanism over against the spring with the motor disconnected and it seems to be fine now -but I am sure that the motor wasn't there for decoration so don't know what will be the resulting complication.

Any advances on this Problem?

I need to do the SAME thing, Check these flaps, Rodds, & motor, for the inlet Port shut off motor!

Where are these parts on the car any Pics? links? or diagrams available online?

Is it on the side of the EGR? or on the side of the Airbox?

Really confused, BUT once I have more info, Would like to tackle this myself ASAP!

The parts are on the underside of the inlet manifold were it meets the cylinder head. You will need to look from under the car as they are very hard to see
