W211 camshaft sensor

I've had a hot starting problem on my 270CDi for the last couple of weeks and posted on it. Most poters thought it could be the crankshaft sensor although a few said it was rare for them to go on a CDi diesel. My indie plugged car into day and only fault that came up was the camshaft sensor. Would that cause a hot starting problem?

it is common for sensors before they fail to become temprature sensitive

Momo,

I had a leaking injector, as I said before on that thread, but it got fixed today. However, the hot start problem was still there and only fault coming up was camshaft sensor.

Momomo, Would a dodgy camshaft sensor cause a starting problem? How much is one and is it a big job to change? Cheers, Alex

Conclusion to thread. New camshaft sensor fitted and problem sorted! Sensor only cost £25 and is easy to fit. Car also runs even more smoother. Thanks for all your help.
