Do you mean what does he want to achieve.?

If so, I believe he has had issues with the fuel filter remaining too cold and like me, he's trying the rad blind to gauge effect on running and economy.

Since blocking the EGR I noticed a reduction of ~50c in EGT temps and a tendency for the engine to loose heat more quickly at cruising speeds.

He should see an economy increase just by removing the fan, as it really doesn't seem to be required for normal motoring on these engines.

Blocking the EGR is self explanatory, it stops soot being recycled in the airstream.

That is as hot as it will get and it needs to be standing after town work to get to that.
How tightly does it seal behind the grille itself, mine is pretty tight as it has curved edges. The idea is to force more air over the top of the car by stopping it entering the engine bay.

Does the car run better on WVO now, or no noticible change?

Its only held by the front grill and the fan sucking it on the grill (basic). I drove fast enough and still on the same position. Its temporary though, next one will be like yours attach to the thin plastic grill.
I did notice a better run today on WVO, more response, but I did a lot of mod on one day then I wouldn't know what helped the most, all of them I reckon. Again the filter was really hot, never seen before, even with the fan off and the heater pass throught the filter as I previously did.
I even did a filter shield once to keep the filter hot without any success, still only warm to touch.
I guess today is a combination of all:
no fan
heater redirected to filter
blocked radiator (mainly)
It's getting there.
The car run better today, tommorrow will tell if it's consistant

I guess what most people want to see is :-

How much extra fuel economy are you achieving as a result of reducing the drag of the car with these mods.

ie. how much (as a percentage) has your mpg improved.

Might go for 800 next...

No way!!! I once did 625 on a tank in 2000 in the same car. I was convinced I was on dirty air for about the last 25 miles. That's brilliant.

How many litres were in the tank at the beginning?
