09 cdi lack of power

Hi Guys

seen the sticky regarding this, but...

yesterday i was on the slip road and decidied to floor it and there was a bang and the car slowed down. There's no MIL light on just really slow below 3k and nothing above there.

It starts fine and sounds ok too just sooo sloooww.

anyway I live in Salford/Lancs so is there any independants with STAR (pref mobile) or would it be worth me purchasing a carsoft i980 and taking it from there.

I'm worried that If I take to a main dealer, they'll diagnose it andf then charge me 100's to fix

thanks

Drewps
