Get it sorted or it could be big bills.

PS, I had a short report on mine through star last time it was in and my indy charged £12, I have a print out 5 pages long with all sorts of tests and things. Most of it means nothing to me.
£90 is what MB want to charge just for plugging it into star thats all I ment . I will check what my local indi will charge

My MB mechanic friend has checked it and found its the SBC unit which has expired .......EXPENSIVE but he has reassured me that Mercedes will replace under warranty !!
The part has been ordered just waiting for a call to take it down .

Most times Mercedes will cover the cost, you really do need to get a good local Indie it will save you a fortune.

But for now Mercedes needs to replace this bloody SBC unit thingy which apparently has only 2 million presses of the brake pedal and its out of parameters ( how true this is I dont know ) but there most be something or MB wouldnt be replacing at there cost

Probably worth finding a dealer who will replace FOC.

MB Bromley told me the SBC had a 'lifetime warranty' on it.

Rumours have been flying around for the last couple weeks that MB no longer covers SBC FOC, there are still cases where the dealer has secured a contribution from MB but only it seems if the customer has full MB service history and is a good client of the dealer. Even then most have posted just 50% contribution, Indie's had better get used to replacing these now as the costs are likely to continue to increase.

[Unbelievable]Of course. What I call a lifetime and what MB call a lifetime were always going to differ weren't they.[/Unbelievable]

Anyone know or hazard a guess at how much would one cost to replace and / or how much would it cost to remove the system completely if that was possible?

full dealer price £1700-1900 so about £800-900 if MB contribute 50%
