It gets better .......not only do I have this on going problem , I now have Brake Service Visit workshop !!!!
My MB mechanic friend has checked it and found its the SBC unit which has expired .......EXPENSIVE but he has reassured me that Mercedes will replace under warranty !! The part has been ordered just waiting for a call to take it down . Has anyone had the same issue apparently it only effects early E class w211 and SL's |

Probably worth finding a dealer who will replace FOC.
MB Bromley told me the SBC had a 'lifetime warranty' on it. |

Rumours have been flying around for the last couple weeks that MB no longer covers SBC FOC, there are still cases where the dealer has secured a contribution from MB but only it seems if the customer has full MB service history and is a good client of the dealer. Even then most have posted just 50% contribution, Indie's had better get used to replacing these now as the costs are likely to continue to increase.

[Unbelievable]Of course. What I call a lifetime and what MB call a lifetime were always going to differ weren't they.[/Unbelievable]
![]() Anyone know or hazard a guess at how much would one cost to replace and / or how much would it cost to remove the system completely if that was possible? |
