SL500 engine harness etc etc Help!!
I am hoping to renew or replace some of the old wiring etc on my sl500. The engine harness (ecu-injectors) looks like its seen much better days. I have enquired with the dealer and got a price of £594 plus the vat. They told me the part is on back order and could take 12 weeks though!! Is there any other suppliers anyone could point me in the direction of? The cost isn't really an issue, its more the time as I'd like to enjoy the car before our week of summer has been and gone haha. I have already replaced the crank position and cam position sensors as these seem to die around 80K (car has done 73K with full history) and the ignition module looks like it has been messed with 2 years ago. It has a tag saying "not repairable" and an auto electricians stamp on it. I spoke to the dealer who said they could get the part for me in 4-5 days but at a cost of £2484 plus the vat!!!! The part no. is 015 545 6132 but I have been told that other cars share the same part with different part no's. is this the case? The engine code is 11997222015923, chassis no is wbd1290672f116941. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. The car is off the road whilst I am having the interior retrimmed and the front bumper resprayed so its not a huge rush but 12 weeks for the loom and 3k for the ignition module seems a little crazy. Thanks in advance Matt |

Sadly the harness is a Mercedes-only part. Olly got me the last one in the UK recently, if Germany are now on back-order then there's not really much option.
