Testing comand

Is it safe to test a NTG2.5 bought from Ebay on a workbench by just connecting the power supply to the unit before swapping it for the Comand APS50
Or will it loose its coding or maybe it will lock

Thanks

It is CLC W203 NTG2.5 COMAND unit to replace a NTG2 on my W203 2007 and was told by Richard and other members of this forum that it can be done with minor mods

Somehow I figured you would have done some research before spending that kind of money

Same answer though, plug it in and get some power on it. I don't think you could test much without it being in the car.

It wont lock up and yes you can test it but make sure you get the right current/power to it.

Happy to test it for you if you like.

I assume it is not only navigation sound missing. The unit must be configured for the sound system amplifier being present at the MOST ring.
