Retrofit Comand, aux, bluetooth W163

Hallo everyone

I have found vaulable information on these forums and would like to mention/confirm/ask my possible plan of action.

I have a MY2002 ML 270 CDI, RHD, in South Africa (flickers on the side mirrors). I am not sure but assumed it is Europe spec? It is fitted with a single bin Audio 30 and CD changer with the BOSE intergration.

1. I want to retrofit to COMAND, which according to this forum, I will have to buy a COMAND with part A 163 546 16 43. ( At ebay I presume?) I also have to buy the rear bracket A 163 546 16 43, combined antenna A163 820 15 75 and adapter loom: A163 540 78 10 (from the dealer). Will I be able to load the South African maps with the South African discs?

2. I then want to add the AUX connector A210 440 50 05 (it unit I buy doesn't have it) and add it as per instructions on this website, so that I can play an Ipod through the radio.

3. I want to buy a bluetooth handsfree kit with the pre wire bluetooth cradle. Where do I buy this cradle and which Parrot system do I buy?

I am sure I will find all these answers on this forum, but it is difficult to keep up with all the different models, etc etc. I have tried to sum up what I have seen, and I am open for suggestions on a cheaper or better solution.

Just to mention that I would prefer standard Comand in my ML for 2 reasons. It will look right to me, and the standard Mercedes Comand will less likely be stolen out of the vehicle.

Hi,

The best comand unit to buy is A163 820 36 89. You do not need the bracket but should make sure you get the mounting plates on the side of the comand unit.

The antenna and loom adapter are available also. If you email me on sales@comandeurope.com / sales@comand.co.uk I can adivse more on the loom adapter if you want to integrate the AUX connection. Also integrated UHI phone pre-wire is possible with the right kit.
