Unhappy e class w211

can some one tell me where the radiator fan relay in located in this car e270 cdi fuse box l/h/s contains relays or some one mentioned to me about under the coolant tank r/h/s ( looks like lrg connector block ) main fan not kicking in and temps around 100 c which i think isnt right hence realy prob..... mb put on star and tested fan and was shown it working, how ever that was tech telling it to run via star diag...top radiator hose seems to build pressure the hotter coolant gets...

If the tech could tell the radiator fan to work then the relay is fine (he told the SAM to turn on the fan which implicitly turns on the relay) - thus I would suspect the temperature sensor (which he should have been able to test with Star also)

sorry i know what ive asked may seen stupid but the fact fan dont come on at all worries me and only runs when heater on, ie runs low rpm... would star not have picked up temp sensor failure ???

i had also 4 pages of open circut faults to which he reset... cant help but worry about coolant temp and not seeing fan kick in to cool around 100 c

Not if it wasnt open or short circuit (i.e just reading the wrong temperature) - or if its a fixed temperature switch (i.e isnt feeding back a temperature, just opeates at a given temperature.

In the time I've had mine I can't remember the fan ever coming on unless the A/C is running and then as you say it's at a low speed.
