The central locking on my '93 C180 hasnt worked for a long time, since Ive spent a lot getting it MOT'd recently I thought I might aswell spruce up the rest of the tired old thing. Ive heard on early models there was some kind of disabling thing on the boot lock for the central locking, had a look at that a long time ago and it didnt seem to do anything. Id like to know if this kind of problem is common, and how it can be fixed without going to a dealer/specialist who's likely to replace the entire system at great cost to me.
