I have a Gateway 500 in my 2007 R class. Unlike the MB version, this one displays the track details (eg song title) on the main Comand display and just a simple 'Track 1' etc on the instrument cluster. The MB one does it the other way round.
Sounds like if the one you describe isn;t displaying details on the Comand then it hasn't been fitted properly, or is faulty. |

If you currently see 'track 6' etc instead of the actual name of the track, then you need to upgrade your command to the latest firmware. You will also get navigation era, but will lose access to the comand cofig menu.

I've tried all the button combinations to try and get into the config menu on this unit but can't seem to get anywhere, what are the correct buttons to press?
