Mercedes CDI 220 (2005)Avangarde

Hi

First time on here so not sure if this is the procedure but here goes any way.

I recently bought the above car & low & behold the cd/sat nav doesn't work. Does anyone have step by step instructions of how to get the whole console out of the car (apparently it's the only way) so i can send back to the garage for them to repair.

It will save me a 700 mile round trip !

What's the fault though - is it just dead? I think there are several things in the car that could cause the unit not to work.

Also seems an odd request to return the unit - I presume you didn't buy from an MB dealer, but even so most non-franchised dealers would have MB repair the car.
