changing Km to Miles

I have COMAND in my 2001 CLK55 with an 05/06 CD disc. How do I change the distance readout to be in miles not Kilometers? Is it possible to change this? The instruction manual does not make it clear.

You can't without having the car re-coded. It's so you have both miles and KM displayed simultaniously.

Speak to Alfie for re-coding.

I'm assuming you have a COMAND 2.5 like in my s-class.

Bring up the system menu (SYS button on my COMAND). Then select "language..."

In the list, there should be both "English (metr.)" and "English (imp.)". By selecting "English (imp.)", COMAND will use miles.

On mine, there is also the option "Adopt from instrum. cluster", where COMAND then uses the setting for km/miles as set in the cluster for the cluster diplay, but I don't know if your CLK is the same in that respect.

Brilliant, thank you. I would never have found it if you hadn't have told me that! Display now reads in miles! The cluster display already reads in MPH not KM/H.
