Reccomend a speaker upgrade?
Would also prefer OEM speakers if possible, dont really want to go changing the door pods. Thanks, Matt

When i bought my car i bought my self a set of Alpine Type-R's all round, thats 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, and it made all the difference. I'm also planning to get a very small sub& to add bass and clearer sound, but i guess that aint your thing.

Not really into the sub & amp thing but i can see the advantage of having a small one.
I know i'm gunna get a slagging, but, i love listening to classical music when i'm cruising along and the speakers in the car just cant hack all the different sounds as well as the bass.

Just installed a pioneer deh-70bt + stalk adaptor for my 2001 220 coupé - sounds much better than the audio 10. I had a sub and amp in my previous mlw163 but am not so keen for the sub and amp thing again.
What speaker upgrade did you go for in the end? |

If you dont plan to amp the speakers then go for speakers designed as factory upgrades. They will be designed to be run off a headunits power.
e.g. Alpine SXE-1725S Speakers - Car Audio Direct JVC CS-V626 Speakers Alpine SXE-1750S Speakers - Car Audio Direct I am not saying expensive speakers arent worth it, but they will be under powered run off a headunit and you wont get the best out of them.

For speakers, I would (did, in mine) go Focal. Just superb
For amplifiers, I which I could go Zapco. Pure Class A
