Radio Code w203

Need to take out the dash to replace the leaking evaporator - Dont have the Radio code. Any ideas how I can get the code? Its an Audio 10 CD on a 2003 W203.

Are you sure you need it? Taken my HU out a few times and never needed to put the code in.

I hope thats the case - I'm not too sure. Just covering my bases. But i thought that all the newer HU's asked for a code once the cables/battery was disconnected.

Thats true, my W203 is a 2001 so it could be different. I'm sure if you do need the code, your local MB dealer should be able to give you it when you give them your chassis number.

Mine is a 2005, I asked MB about a code & they say it does not need one.

Didn't they drop the code when head units changed from the standard single DIN format to something car specific? Comand units have never had a code, if I remember right.

mine is the audio 10 HU with 6 disc cd changer.I have had my battery disconnected overnight for recharging,& removed the radio fuse(no.64)When testing for current drain.When i reconnected ,it never asked for the code,just worked straight away.

The single DIN unit i had in the car before the COMMAND never asked me for a code ether?

Should be ok, my radio comes up with -----,
pull out main radio fuse and replace, ok again for 6 months

Using info from a well known ex member, the Audio 10 requires a code but the later Audio 20 does not. If you are unable to obtain the code you can get a power supply that plugs into the cig lighter whilst you replace the battery (halfords etc).

Dont know about the radio, but some pictures of evaporator replacement would be great: mine needs doing but no idea how!!
