C Class problem

Hi all.

Have a c220cdi 2000 that I sold cheaply to a staff member - you may remember I was having gear problems with it which turned out to be the slector lever module @ £300 (ouch).

He took the car on Friday, this morning on way to work started getting warning lights and down on power. I've had a drive - it was ok for two miles then I got ABS and BAS lights on, and the car stuck in gear (limp-home mode?). Interestingly, the as the warning lights came on the speedo went off. Am wondering could it be a sensor of some sort, maybe down to lack of use/crap weather?

Does this ring a bell with anyone? Cheers

Recently had to change the break light switch on my C180. Was playing havoc with my BAS, ABS and cruse control. Changed the switch and all was grand again. Its very handy to fit and cheap as chips to buy.

I went to the cash machine this morning. It said "insufficient funds". I thought, me, or the bank??

Brake light switch fitted, not that. Codes indicate f/o/s speed sensor, faults cleared. Took out, got 20 yards and warning back on so will strip out sensor. In the meantime, would a low-pressure tyre cause this fault? just wondering as the tyre does look a touch low....

they do clean up sometimes though, they attract a lot of metal filings... worth a try..

Talk about this going from bad to worse.

Just tried to whip the wheel off to see if its a Teves or Bosch one (Greenoaks couldnt tell me) and snapped one wheel bolt in the hub, and the locking nut key socket has also snapped in situ. Friday the damned 13th alright, plus it seems the Norovirus has returned

blimey, how tight were they done up... MB locking nuts arent very good... keys are always slipping/breaking... helps just to nip them up, dont torque them all the way..

Best ive found are the RAD ones that murray systems/alloywheelsdirect.net sell..

Did you not give them the full VIN ??????????? It would have saved a lot of hassle.
