SIMPLE Q: Can the interior lights come on if I unlock or open the doors on a W208

This is starting to bug me, are the interior lights meant to come on my 2000 CLk200 W208 when I either unlock or open the doors? Is there something that can control this?

Yes they should come on. The switch is on the roof, inbetween the two front sunblinds.

may not come in during daylight hours though
