Whirring noise on W211
I am getting an occassional whirring noise which sounds like it is coming from behind the steering wheel / instrument cluster. I know this is a very vague description, any ideas what it might be? Many thanks Tan |

Could be the SBC brake system. My sisters cars makes all sorts of noises like you describe. doesn't cause any problems on hers.

I get a faint unobtrusive whirring noise from there occasionally too Tan on my E55, hopefully it's normal!

Yup, it is the SBC system. Mine groans too - sounds like me getting out of bed after a night on the lash!
