Whirring noise on W211

Hi

I am getting an occassional whirring noise which sounds like it is coming from behind the steering wheel / instrument cluster.

I know this is a very vague description, any ideas what it might be?

Many thanks

Tan

Could be the SBC brake system. My sisters cars makes all sorts of noises like you describe. doesn't cause any problems on hers.

I get a faint unobtrusive whirring noise from there occasionally too Tan on my E55, hopefully it's normal!

Yup, it is the SBC system. Mine groans too - sounds like me getting out of bed after a night on the lash!

It has been discussed on here before - I'll do search later on if I remember
