Heated rear window slow to clear

Very slow in fact i timed it this morning and i had done 10miles in 15mins and it was still less than 50% clear then next time i looked it had switched off timer i guess.

Does anyone elses take as long as this?

Wife says her W203 is also very slow.

Not wishing to cast aspertions on your personal hygiene habits, but is the rear screen clean on the inside? A clean screen clears quicker.

p.s. I assume there are no breaks in the elements.

If you switch your A/C on or use the manual fan with the temp up high, this helps. Mine cleared within 5 minutes this morning with both front and rear de-misters on.

It's very slow on my SL, and many other SL owners have made the same comment.

I would hazard a guess that it's to do with the elements being inside the glass, rather than on the surface. Hence the glass has to be heated from the inside out, rather than the surface layer (where the condensation is) being heated directly.

The downside of having the elements on the surface is obviously that they can be damaged relatively easily.

Glass is all clean well ish am running with a/c on at the moment full time.

Last car a disco had heated front and rear, front would clear ice in about 3 mins and the rear wasnt far behind.

Makes it really difficlut to see what the car behind you is and more importantly are there any lights on the roof .

Will clean all glass again weekend as the front seems to be a bit grubby even though cleaned a few weeks ago, just remembered the newspaper trick.

Ps no breaks in elements top 3 or 4 dont wotk but i think they are radio aerial or similiar

Pps elements are on the inside surface of my rear screen.
