TOOKIMB Bluetooth Phone Module
So, does anyone have any experience of the TookiMB (http://www.nav.tv/products/tookimb) bluetooth phone module? It is for MOST based MB cars and based on the specs it seems to be a good alternative to retrofitting UHI if you have a more recent car that didn't have UHI pre-wiring done. It seems to fully integrate with Comand, cluster and a multifunction steering wheel, although these may need activating using Star / DAS. It seems relatively easy to fit, compared to a proper retrofit, and wouldn't need the additional cost of a bluetooth UHI module. I suppose the TOOKIMB would kind of be the equivalent of having an integrated phone with the HFP bluetooth module fitted. Although I have never used this product myself there is a similar device in the states call the iTronic which I have heard good things about.
The cost of it is in between a 3rd party kit like parrot and a full retrofit. It does need professional installation so bear that in mind |

The TOOKIMB is selling for $750 in the States and £470 in the UK. It is relatively high, but it doesn't require any additional module to operate. Unfortunately there is a shortage of stock in the UK at the moment.
Personally, I'm still inclined towards the proper oem retrofit. |
