W204 Command Wierdness

Hi,

I have noticed two strange sets of behavior with my command navigation, which appear to be consistent, so I presume bugs in the software but wondered if other had experienced similar issues.

The first is that in my home town where there is a shell and BP forecourt close to each other, command displays double symbols. I.e Two shell symbols very close to each other and two BP symbols directly adjacent.
Only noticed this happen in the one particular location but its consistent and never changes.

The second and more worrying was when the digital harridan in the dash developed split personality and started to disagree with herself and issue contradictory directions:
The spoke directions invited me to turn “left” sight into a 12 foot high stone wall, when the road clearly only went right !! a quick glance at the screen revealed an instruction to turn right . This divergence of spoken and visual instructions continued for the next couple of turns and roundabouts until leaving the village in question.
She then seemed to sulk for a few miles, issuing no verbal instructions at all before suddenly bursting back into life and resuming normal and consistent service.

Very strange and potential hazardous.

Anyone else experienced this sort of problem ??

You could have clarified if the map data was correct for the location. Could be and issue with Japanese quality too (the device is made by a Japanese company).

But the comment about hazardous behaviour sounds like you were American, I would not consider it acceptable to blame any assistance device in the car being guilty while the driver should take care of safely driving the car irrespectively if the assistance devices made mistakes.

Is the divergence of spoken and visual instructions repeatable at that spot, i.e. if you drove that section of route again does the same thing happen? If so then it's almost certainly a map data problem, if not it's probably software. In eaither case it's worth reporting the issue as otherwise it'll never get fixed.

I've had a similar thing happen in the past with a particular release of cartography on a Garmin device. On approach to a roundabout in France where the visual guidance clearly showed I was to traverse the roundabout anti-clockwise and take the 3rd exit at 9-o'clock the voice guidance told me to take the first exit, as though I was going to go around it clockwise. It only happened at this one particular roundabout (and could be repeated by navigating any route that entered and exited on the two roads concerned) and only on that one release of the cartography.
